Come for the Regulation, Stay for the Joy

Hi Reader,

The Everyday Artist Community launches today and from what people have told me so far, it couldn't be coming at a more perfect time.

I probably don't need to state the obvious but I will anyways:

Regulation and joy are not necessarily the norm right now.

They are things that we must intentionally seek out.

Yes - fascism, oligarchy, dictatorship, patriarchy, white supremacy, imperialism (the list goes on) have all their as*es out right now and I know it can feel scary and overwhelming.

But you know what we have - that we've always had - that can be a balm for the fear and overwhelm that the powers at be hope take us out and keep us paralyzed?

Community. Creativity. Art. Coming together. Small actions. Big care. Deep rest. Consistent Play. Co-regulation.

And that is exactly why I created The Everyday Artist Community.

To create an intentional space where all of these things can exist.

To create a space where your nervous system regulation is just as important as your creativity.

Where healing your creative blocks translates to unleashing your creativity and self-expression in ways you never could have imagined.

Where your inner child can heal and play.

Where you start seeing yourself as the creative person; the artist that you are.

Where you finally start or finish that creative idea that's been sitting on the back burner for too long.

Where the small impactful actions you take in the space, translate to impactful actions you take outside the space.

So yes, we begin today, but joining this space is available to you at any time.

What you can expect:

  • Weekly Creative Corners: a Protected time for creative exploration, inclusive of opening EFT Tapping for creative blocks and regulation

  • Monthly Themed EFT Sessions: Deep dive EFT Tapping sessions focused on specific creativity and self-expression blocks

  • Monthly Creative Guest Speakers: Creators and entrepreneurs sharing their personal creative journeys

  • Private, secure platform to share creative updates, questions, and wins in between weekly sessions

Logistics:

  • Weekly Creative Corners on Wednesdays
  • You can sign up here
  • A welcome email will be sent to you giving you all pertinent logistical details

I hope to see you here soon and whether or not I end up seeing you in this space, I hope that regulation, joy, community, play, art and taking small consistent actions find a home in you.

Hi Reader, This week marks my 7 year anniversary of creative entrepreneurship. Which is......wow. Ironically, without knowing this, someone this week actually asked me about my entrepreneurial journey. She asked specifically if leaving my corporate job felt like a spiritual awakening or some type of a rebirth experience. And my answer was immediately yes………and that's putting it lightly. Because what they don't talk about with entrepreneurship is the death experience that can happen with it -...

Hi Reader, For a long time in my life I feel confident in saying the fear of failure is what drove me. Competitive in gymnastics until I was 12 Highly competitive in volleyball until I was 19 Went to one of the most competitive high schools in the country Followed by working at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), one of the most competitive talent agencies in the world Straight to Media Arts Lab (MAL) - one of the most competitive advertising agencies. The pattern is……palpable. Looking back, I...

Hi Reader, Last week in a collaborative newsletter with Brionna, we mentioned the need for all of us to intentionally seek out nervous system regulation. How nervous system regulation doesn’t just “happen” during the times we are in; how we must search for it, make room for it; find it for ourselves and with one another. And we don’t do this through large acts of grandeur but rather simple, consistent, sustainable tried and true methods. And unsurprisingly, I feel the same way about...
